Freva: Freedom with Virtual Assistants

Putting together a team of virtual assistants was inspired by a casual conversation.

At Mary’s home one snowy Sunday morning, we were sipping hot cocoa and coffee when Mary expressed how overwhelmed she was in all of tasks needed to run her own business. She manages her growing real estate company and was constantly being pulled in numerous directions. Due to the daunting tasks, it would leave her with no time doing clerical works. Rich told Mary that he knows people from the Philippines that might be able to help her. He reached out to his contacts overseas and learned that there is a great interest among seasoned professionals to get involve in remotely assisting clients abroad to earn extra income for their families.

Just when we finally decided to venture in the business, COVID-19 hit. We took refuge like the rest of the world and focused on our own health. As the pandemic risks subsided and people began resuming with their new “normal” lives, we went back to our drawing board and restarted the conversation on where we left off. We have a more solid understanding of the value the company can bring to the table - quality of life for small business owners and individuals. If we could talk to them about their needs and find the right virtual assistants for their job, it would mean more time and resources that they can spare to invest in undertakings that they are more passionate about.

Mary and Rich participate in various community initiatives in Michigan. Mary, a breast cancer survivor, is on the frontline in advocating for health and wellness initiatives. She helps in organizing a fund raising project that benefits a nonprofit cancer group. Rich is a consultant and has a strong background in Business & IT and healthcare-related ventures. He’s heavily involved in community organizing and resource education.

What’s in a name?

Freva /frēvā/ is a portmanteau from the word FREedom and ‘VA,’ which is the acronym for Virtual Assistants. The V and A letters in red and blue, which are colors of the United States and the Philippines flags, resemble flying eagles symbolizing freedom. Our mission is to take the guess work out of delegating your unwanted tasks so you can have more freedom of time to enjoy the things you love.
